Will Work 4 Bags

Hi -

Just a shout out to all my favorite ladies who LOVE to shop, I NEED your plastic shopping bags!! Black, purple, cerulean...Old Navy, Target, AT&T...it doesn't matter the size shape or color - I don't discriminate. If you have any plastic bags lying around and have no use for them - don't throw them away - be kind to our environment and send them my way! Thanks!!

Mairaed Hand Bag

"Mairaed" is made with black, white, pink, purple and blue bags (near the bottom). I've found that working with colorful bags instead of grocery bags is a lot more fun - I don't know if I can go back!

Lined with pink starry fabric, with a pink zip closure and complete with pockets for a wallet (or compact), cell phone and pen.

Neon Romance

Okay, no comparisons, this is my favorite bag ever! Sturdier (thanks to the heavy duty black trash bags), brighter (Old Navy and Express had awesome bags this summer) and handier. I call it "Neon Romance."

The name is a bit different, because I already named a bag 'Rebekah' and it was simply too different to have a regular name. The name Neon wasn't hard to come by given the bright colors in the center and the fact that I just bought an LG Neon phone; the influence seemed too much to ignore...! Romance was actually the name of the material I used to line the interior of the purse, so I just put the two together.
The purse has a zip closure as well, which I prefer to a flap closure. Besides, I couldn't resist the lime green zipper I found! Too fun!!

For added strength and comfort ability, I made the shoulder strap wider at the top.

I also added four pockets to the interior; one for my cell, one for my wallet and two for pens. I used a decorative stitch around the pockets and I really like the way it came together.

A bigger, brighter tag was in order too!
If you enjoy these bags, Google 'candy wrapper purses,' they are awesome too! I need to learn how to make them!

Meet 'Jennifer'

My latest Bek Bag, 'Jennifer.'
'Jennifer' is for my Aunt, the one to patiently taught me the art of crochet several years ago. I thought it only too appropriate, when I gifted her with a new kind of crochet - the plastic kind!!

'Jennifer' is lined with a very soft, dusty lavender chenille fabric - yum!

More Bek Bags to come soon!

I took crocheting to a smaller level - but a fun one! As long as you don't go blind using a tiny tiny crochet hook...the possibilities are endless...!

Looking back...

I found some old pictures and was pondering how quickly time passes. Yes, this is me at the Derosier family farm (I think I'm about 24 months old). You can't easily tell, but I do have tiny pigtails - just so I didn't pass for being a little boy!

Fast-forward a couple of years...off to the Rodeo we go! My mom made this snazzy shirt and I was so proud of the cool red fringe and my beautiful red cowgirl boots!

Here we are back at the farm with my cousin Elizabeth (circa 1994).

Okay...this photo would be the during my embarrassing/awkward phase - to our great horror and everyone elses amusement, I'm sure most of us have photo evidence of such things: Bad haircut, bushman brows, boy clothes...hm.

At 16 - again with cousin Elizabeth - but in Europe instead of at the farm! Hurray for trips abroad! I think that summer was a big turning point for me, "Hey Bek, it's okay to be girly!"

High School Graduation...good times.

Engaged to my best friend Rich...! This was my first trip to White Sands New Mexico when I met Rich's extended family in 2003.

THE BIG DAY 2004

Our sweet girl, Jenna, 2005 - I didn't think I was capable of loving someone so much at first sight!

Following not two years later, our precious Zachary.

Look how big they are already! Strange how it takes so little time to come full circle...

Thank you Lord for such a full life!

Just MY Bag

"Rebekah" is my latest creation (similar to "Sara" with the flap closure) made with blue and white bags and lined with a bright funky stripe!

It's difficult to see in the photo, but I did create a pocket just the right size for my wallet in the lining.
